Susan M. Crowe

Susan M. Crowe, 80, of Tamaroa went to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:10 P.M., Friday, September 19, 2003 at the Pinckneyville Skilled Care to suffer no more.
Susan was born October 26, 1922 in rural Tamaroa, the daughter of Clarence and Clarissa (Queen) Weisel.
She married Cpl. James E. Crowe (Army-AirForce WW II) in Clovis, NM on November 7, 1944. He passed away February 20, 1990.
Prior to his death they attended the Glad Tidings Apostolic Church in Willisville, where their son was pastor. She then attended the Du Quoin United Pentecostal Church with her daughter. In recent months, due to ill health she attended the Apostolic Lighthouse in Tamaroa with her son where he now pastors. She was baptized in Jesus Name in 1939 by Rev. Herbert Rice. She was an intercessory Prayer Warrior. She will be remembered by many for her willingness to pray for those in need, her card ministry, for the many quilts & comforters she loved to piece, the many hours she spent reading to her grandchildren, her blackberry cobblers & her chicken & dumplings.
She is survived by one son- Rev. Joseph Crowe & wife Sharon, one daughter- Alda Fred & husband John all of Tamaroa, grandsons- John Wayne Fred & wife Tammy of Farmersville, TX, SRA Joshua Crowe & wife Berea of Andrews Air Force Base, MD, Pvt. James Fred of Ft. Gordon, GA, granddaughters- Tamara Winkleman & husband David of Poplar Bluff, MO, Nikki Kinnick & husband Rev. Joshua Kinnick of Seagoville, TX, and Faith Crowe of Tamaroa, great grandchildren- Constance & Jean-Luc' Fred, Jonathan & Jarod Winkleman, Erin & Ashley Crowe, Jaclyn Kinnick, sister- Belle Kurtz & husband Homer, sisters-in-law- Flora Weisel, Edna Woodrome & husband Frank & Ruby Emling all of Tamaroa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son- Clarence James Crowe, granddaughter- Theresa Fred, great grandsons- Caleb & Christopher Winkleman, brothers- Jesse, Claude & Richard Weisel, sister- Frances Haycraft.
Funeral services were at 1:00 P.M., Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with the Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.
